In February 2017, Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bengaluru prepared to host Aero India 2017 — a landmark edition that marked the first-ever arrival of the Rafale fighter aircraft on Indian soil. With the world watching and zero margin for error on the runway that would host this historic moment, the Government of India and the Indian Air Force placed their trust in LN Petrochem for the critical task of runway rejuvenation.
Working from behind the scenes, LN Petrochem carried out an intensive runway rejuvenation programme from 1st to 10th February 2017, under the direct guidance of the Chief Engineer, Air Force, Bengaluru, and the Air Officer Commanding, Yelahanka Air Base. A dedicated team of 14 specialised applicators, deploying the company's proprietary PME Rejuvenator machine, rejuvenated 50,000 square metres of the runway's most critical portions — restoring surface integrity, skid resistance, and structural resilience ahead of intensive fighter aircraft operations.
The successful, glitch-free execution of Aero India 2017 — including the historic touchdown of the Rafale — stood as a testament to the precision and reliability of LN Petrochem's work under pressure. This project reinforced the company's position as India's most trusted and pioneering partner in airfield pavement rejuvenation, a reputation earned through technical excellence, uncompromising quality and unwavering commitment when the stakes were highest.
