Emulcote Pavement Rejuvenator
Emulcote is a polymer modified emulsion rejuvenator formulated to penetrate oxidized asphalt, restore binder flexibility, and reconstitute the surface film that binds aggregate particles. It is designed for use on aged asphalt concrete where surface oxidation, loss of volatiles, and micro-cracking have reduced pavement life and ride quality.
How it works - Emulcote’s low viscosity carrier allows deep penetration into the weathered surface. Proprietary polymer modifiers then swell and soften oxidized binder molecules. The net effect is recovered flexibility, reduced micro-cracking, and improved cohesion between binder and aggregate.
Key performance advantages - Extends service life, reduces need for full-depth rehabilitation, lowers lifecycle cost, and improves surface resistance to raveling. Emulcote reduces surface permeability, limiting water ingress and reducing moisture-related deterioration. It is formulated to be compatible with common aggregates and binders used in airport pavements, and it will not adversely affect friction when applied and cured correctly.
Application and quality control - Typical application rate is 1 litre per square metre, adjusted per surface condition and porosity. Application is by calibrated sprayer with controlled flow and immediate broom or squeegee redistribution where required. Post application, surface trials and friction verification are conducted in coordination with the airport authority. Emulcote is supplied with technical guidance on dilution, pre-treatment, and environmental handling.
Environmental and safety notes - Bitumen extraction Oil based, low VOC, and handled with industry standard PPE. Full MSDS and disposal instructions provided.
